If your computer’s start up sound seems to come later and later everytime you boot up, USA Today has a nice little article about how to expedite the start up process.

    Usually one of the first things I do when somebody calls me up because they are having computer problems is run ad-aware and then reboot, then check their start up apps by using the msconfig command. I’ve worked on some computers that have over 50 running processes at startup. Totally crazy!
